Code of Ethics

Membership of the Miniature Poodle Club shall imply acceptance

 - Agreed AGM February 2008

1      Members shall not mate any bitch that is less than 12 Calendar months of age.

2      Members shall not mate a bitch aged more than 8 years of age except with special permission from the Kennel Club.

3      Members shall not mate a bitch after it has had 6 litters.

4      Members shall not sell or allow to leave their premises puppies which are less than 8 weeks of age.

5      Members shall not mate any bitch for more than two consecutive seasons.

6      Members shall not have more than two Caesarean sections on any one bitch and these must not be on two consecutive seasons.

7      Members undertake to breed stock of good general health and temperament, making use of the Kennel Club Health Scheme(s) pertinent to this breed.

8      Dogs should always be sold to final owners, never knowingly to dealers or agents.

9      Members shall always give written dietary, grooming and general health advice when selling a Miniature Poodle.

10    Members shall give an undertaking of follow up advice to all new owners as and when required.

11    Members shall not be knowingly involved in the cross breeding of Miniature Poodles with any other Breed.

12    No member shall knowingly abandon any dog, bitch or puppy.

For the purposes of items 1 - 5 publication in the Kennel Club Breed Records Supplement shall be required as proof of the facts.

Members who breach the Code of Ethics shall be sent a letter of warning by the Committee. Persistent breaches shall make the Member liable to expulsion for conduct injurious to the interests of the Club in the manner detailed by the Rules under the haeding“Expulsion of Members ”.
